AlphaMind's got it right. Ultrasonic is the one that uses pitch differencing instead of volume differencing, so you'll get the best results because of that. Speakers are what's safest for using ultrasonics on. Ultrasonic audio can be detected and deciphered even in spite of at least one form of hearing loss. But yes, if you haven't already, definitely do go have a doctor check it out.
