Day off today and I'll bump it up tomorrow.
Say, is it common for exes to come back into the picture? One has invited me out, and said she'd want to have dinner (I assume that I would be paying for all of that?)
Context: we were dating casually and just stopped messaging each other.

A theory for exes who come back at this moment in history: She's just not a big fan of the gas prices.
I'm 5 years older than her and have a consistent income.

I have seen more than a few people see ex's come back into their lives. 

My suggestion is, if she invited you out to dinner, she's covering it, unless you agree to something else.  Might want to clarify that with her.  I'm not a big fan of "Hey, let's go have dinner, I'm inviting you out to dinner, but I want a free one on your dime."

That said, it's very possible that once you get the "who pays" thing worked out, DMSI might make things significantly spicier than before.

But I wouldn't be surprised if your theory is 186% spot on.
