DAY 79 - George - 03-24-2015

Express yourself
http://youtu.be/rD-VpCZ8EQw

I believe that genuine attempts at positive expression can go a long way. I didn't overly enjoy the last amateur improv show I went to, but I could still appreciate the effort the performers put forth and felt a sense of gratitude and kindness for it. With that in mind, I've been trying to positively express myself to the client of my crazy rush project, even when the news isn't always great. This doesn't mean I BS him; to the contrary, I've been practising telling it like it is, while putting a positive spin on what can be done next to move it along as fast as possible, in the hopes of getting as much gratitude and kindness from him as I had for the performers in the so-so show.

Day 80 - George - 03-25-2015

Express yourself, Part 2
http://youtu.be/zRNuPkgMtfE

Once again, I had to break mixed news to my client. Once again, I did so with complete openness and not a hint of apology or subservience, and once again, I got a good reaction, actually, even better than I thought.

Coincidentally, I was watching a video about how easy it is to put out your own product line these days in whatever your competence is, and once again, the main theme was all about expressing yourself and sharing your message with the world. If it truly brings that much success, then I think my wall-flowering days are numbered.

DAY 81 - George - 03-26-2015

I'm worth it
http://youtu.be/yAnU2Tr4cN4

I sat through a presentation at work from a client that specializes in sex education. In one segment, she emphasized how one person should feel comfortable in declining sex just from their sense of self-worth. That simple idea smacked me in the face, and I realized how little worth I've been giving myself by working all the time with little self-care. When the clock struck 5, and after having begun work at 7:30, I immediately cut off my work day and went about the business of taking care of myself.

DAY 82 - George - 03-27-2015

Drop the coin
http://youtu.be/62o345dp_fc

Within 24 hours I experienced both an effusively cheerful and an annoyingly whiny moment from my boss, both directed at me for things I did. It reminds me of a Peak Potential seminar where T. Harv Eker preaches to not only let the bad comments roll off your back, but the good ones as well. Just like something bad might have happened to predispose them to being nasty to you, something good might have happened to predispose them in the opposite direction. You thus can't let yourself be affected by the good side of the coin without handing your control to the bad side as well. In the end, take what objective value exists in the comments, toss the coin aside, and continue to take control your mood from the inside.

DAY 83 - George - 03-28-2015

Your three words
http://youtu.be/byVQZKCNfQ8

So for once, I'm not going to practice confidence on the job. I have my friend's birthday house party and along with it a perfect training ground to practice increasing my social confidence. This should be interesting, as I've been a wallflower for over 30 years but are keener about snapping out of it these days. In addition, I am to implement the three words that I've chosen to embody when I interact with others (as per the advice of a book).Mine are illuminating, captivating, and powerful. Tall order, but hey, I've been training!

DAY 84 - George - 03-29-2015

Moral victories
http://youtu.be/GrZCktMYwxg

So I went to my friend's party with my three "social intention words": I wanted to be illuminating, captivating, and powerful. Well, that didn't quite happen. I was distracted by music, I was fumbling for ways to keep conversations going, and I felt stonewalled within a minute of talking to the most beautiful girl there. But... I was very patient with myself, understanding that I was never good at this and that it just had to be come a muscle for me to build. And in the end, I ended up involving myself in two very engaging conversations.

Keep in mind too conversations are both ways. If the other person isn't making much of an effort, you can try to get them involved, but if they're more or less a statue, do yourself a favor and move on.

Indeed, she was statuesque, both in terms of physical beauty and... engagement. My ego took a minor hit when some other guys fared better with her, but hey, it's part of the journey, and in the end, I just want to really connect with one woman.

DAY 85 - George - 03-30-2015

Own your agenda, dammit
http://youtu.be/t6tVLJvRG3Y

A lethargic post-party day, along with some high performance video-watching, had me desiring to set a tighter schedule yesterday, which I did. Today, I'm already behind it. Undecided But that's OK. I've at least gained the maturity to patiently wade through an initial series of setbacks and calibrations until I establish something that works for me.

Day 86 - George - 03-31-2015

Own your life
http://youtu.be/MEAtjI9mz6E

Following a video I watched about owning my agenda, I get my DDP Yoga DVDs on a neat custom-printed envelope with the motto "Own your life". The coincidence is profound for me, for I realize how much I've been owned by others, including my scaredy cat alter ego. Primarily though, I have to get others used to some rules for myself that I'm going to put into place to make my life work better... for me.

DAY 87 - George - 04-01-2015

Clear and simple
http://youtu.be/762OQGbf8DM

Notes from a "lunchtime seminar" I attended yesterday.

You can attain practically anything you want if both your goals and the actions to attain them are clear and simple. If it's not working out, there is a lack of one or more of three things:

Rigour: Carrying out the actions consistently
Integrity: Actually carrying out the actions you said you would
Responsibility: Developing the ability to make things happen with whomever you want, wherever you want, and whenever you want.

DAY 88 - George - 04-02-2015

Counter-asking
http://youtu.be/Cx8k3vT-Y5A

When you want something done right, you can often do it yourself, but you gain a lot of leverage in asking. I was asked for a favour that significantly puts me out of my way. But interestingly, I immediately felt the self-worth to ask for something in return and was happily obliged. I found this noteworthy because some forms of Law of Attraction speak of the Ask Believe Receive formula, and so the more I get myself to ask, the more benefits...and confidence...I'll receive.

DAY 89 - George - 04-03-2015

Putting my money where my dreams are
http://youtu.be/U68xpj2n-d8

In a show of serendipity, I came across a copywriting coaching program on the same day that I had a Theta healing session on removing harmful beliefs on money. I'm beginning to grow tired of my current lifestyle and this, I believe, is the means to my new one. Let's see how far my confidence will take me in this new side-project.

DAY 90 - George - 04-04-2015

As if
http://youtu.be/zgsG5v8aLzw

Continuing the theme of taking bigger steps to demonstrate confidence, I met with an old colleague who will be my new financial advisor. I don't have all that much he can help me manage now, but as with my copywriting, I am creating my new future now, with little more than a vision and some self-confidence.
