Audio frequency limited by mp3 player? - LifeLabs - 08-01-2014 Shannon, I'm thinking about setting up a speakers plus mp3 player system in my bedroom to listen to subliminals at night, instead of using my Macbook. I was browsing some mp3 players, and for one of them (Philips Minidot) the tech specs reported a frequency response range of 80-18000 Hz. What the hell? I thought the limiting factor were the speakers?! How can the player itself have a frequency range? Do smartphones have this problem too? RE: Audio frequency limited by mp3 player? - brightike - 08-01-2014 I can field this one for Shannon lower freq response = lower cost to manufacture. Yes some players have lower frequency response ranges and some smartphones too. A decent way to know if a device you have already purchased will work is to run the speaker test audio on one device while using a freq/decibel meter on another device. |
