Look for a frequency response rate that goes up to 20khz (20,000hz). If it's higher the better, if it's lower, find something else. Make sure the package says "Frequency Response Rate - 20khz or greater" most will have a range of 20hz to 20khz or something like that. As long as it goes up to 20khz you're fine.

Make sure the speakers are stereo and not mono! Dual / Stereo is what you need. Don't get mono!

That's about it, just make sure you have a good device to run the subs and you're set.

Ryan

I've found this website but I'm not sure which one has 20khz, which one is good http://www.beslist.nl/products/elektronica/elek_speakers/r/Dock+Speaker+nano+ipod/?minimumprice=15&maximumprice=46

Sony Bookshelf speakers: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-SS-B1000-8-Inch-Bookshelf-Speakers/dp/B000OG88KY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1284156329&sr=8-1

I love this babies! They aren't very expensive for the quality they produce, great for a home theater system as well. You will need a receiver/stereo system to use them and a way to convert digital to analog/RCA cables in order to use a MP3 player or Computer. Great investment for long-term use, 50khz response.

GE Computer Speakers: http://www.target.com/GE-2-pc-Speakers/dp/B000F5LEC8/ref=sc_qi_detailbutton

Bought these at Target, they were only $11 and have a frequency response of 20khz. These are computer speakers so they need a USB slot in order to power. You can easily find a USB port to fit an electrical outlet as well.

Great Sony Earbuds for Sleeping while on vacation: http://www.target.com/Sony-Sweet-Little-Earbuds-MDREX33LPWHI/dp/B001RB24LY/ref=sc_qi_detailbutton

Bought these at Target as well. Used them on vacation for sleeping, they were one of the most comfortable and inexpensive pair I could find. I used them with a headband to keep them in place while sleeping.

this is the suggestion I was looking for whole day thanks Ryan

RE: Afforable Speakers (Meet Ultrasonic 20kHz Requirements) - MasterEnki - 10-15-2013

I live in Sydney, Australia - and unfortunately Amazon doesn't deliver here!! - I had hopes for the logic-3 one...

I've looked around for some iPod / iPhone decks, etc. and no one seems to know what the frequency range is - suppliers don't tell you, etc.

Has anyone successfully used any from Sony / Phillips / Dick Smiths Brand(s)?

Also, Portable DVD Players might be an idea... They seem to be Stereo / have 2 speakers... But again, don't enlighten as to the frequency range!!

Has anyone successfully used Portable DVD Player(s) for playing Shannon's subs?

Thanks

Up on this one. At the end, someone got a good selection for Ipad or laptop speakers (separated) ?

RE: Afforable Speakers (Meet Ultrasonic 20kHz Requirements) - swisston - 01-26-2014

I have ordered some of the Audioengine 2 speakers as well, for the bedroom. Fed up of my Boombox speakers randomly turning off during the night.

I just ordered myself the Audioengine A2+ so I don't need to buy new computer speakers again.

Are you going to need an amp with those? And are you going to need two to make it stereo?

Yes you are right , they are passive speaker so you need an amp.
