I have no idea what the specs are on the speakers, but I've been used the Absolute Confidence (masked) sub on it and got great results within 7 days. I'm just curious because I want to ensure I'm not gimping myself.

I'm sure it's totally fine for masked, just ultrasonic is the question

I found that if you play the masked version, and you can hear what sounds like voices between the waves (you can't make it out, but it sounds like someone is talking) your speakers should be fine for the ultrasonics.

Being able to make out speech means you have good audio acutance to the speakers and your ears. That is audio between ~120 and 4,000 Hz, and has nothing to do with being able to play audio that starts at 14.5 kHz and goes up from there.

Does that mean my hearings good?

Sounds like it - unless you're talking about earbuds or headphones. Smile

I hear the "voices" with earbuds and headphones too. But I test the speakers by how good I can hear the "voices" too. I'm glad my hearing is good.

Apparently it is. Or you just like things really loud. lol

Blue, without having the specs, I cannot know what the Hz range is. You'll find out soon, I'm sure.

Check these out guys...rated to 23 kHz and super cheap! Only thing is they run on batteries, which are rechargable with an adapter that comes with it tho.

They are portable speakers mind you. I like my CyberAcoustics because they charge my iPod as I use it.

Hey Shannon. What's up? Today I went to find good speakers for my alpha male set as the old ones exploded two days ago when listening to stage two, lol. Anyway, dude, it's really hard to find speakers that go from 20Hz to 20 000Hz here in Poland. I went to four stores and no one had any. The dude working at the last store I went to checked and said the best he could find was 33 Hz - 20 000 Hz, and it costed around 300 euro. He said that if I wanted to go as low as to 20 I wouldn't find it in any store and had to order it and it would cost a lot more.

I had to settle for 50 Hz - 20 000 Hz speakers for 60 euro. I hope that is good enough for the ultrasonics. But to get 20 Hz speakers is literally impossible, at least here. So I don't know, you said that it is what is average or pretty normal...I guess not here.

RE: Staticky sound on quality speakers - Spiral - 07-06-2011

Hey man, those will be fine. Because the range is accurate as to what's required. As long as it goes up to 20,000 hz you're fine. I've been using my 5 year old computer speakers and their range maxes at 20,000hz and they work fine.

RE: Staticky sound on quality speakers - Shannon - 07-06-2011

Yes, for ultrasonics, it's the maximum top end of the range of frequency response that matters, not the low end. So 20 kHz and up, and we don't really care what the low end is. Although the total range will tell you something about the overall quality of the speakers.
