Hypnosis Susceptibility and Subliminals - Dot - 09-02-2012 I have been hypnotized by a professional hypnotherapist many times. I've tried hypnosis tapes and same thing- I get hypnotized. My question is if being easily hypnotizable ( me - fo sure ) makes any difference whatsoever ( good or bad ) to the benefits and suggestions within subliminals? Seems like it it would make me more susceptible as well to subs but just thought I'd ask. Thanks RE: Hypnosis Susceptibility and Subliminals - Sean - 09-02-2012 I'm fairly resistant to hypnosis, and the subs are working beautifully on me. If being susceptible to them increases the effect, you're gonna love it! RE: Hypnosis Susceptibility and Subliminals - Dot - 09-02-2012 Thanks Sean. With hypnosis at least - I konk out fast and easily - like I'm a fainting goat While it makes logical sense that something similar would occur with subs - key difference is that I could hear the suggestions with hypnosis - not so with subs. RE: Hypnosis Susceptibility and Subliminals - Shannon - 09-02-2012 Hypnosis and subliminals are akin to being cousins. They're both from the same family. but they represent different branches. Hypnosis requires interaction with the conscious mind, in the classical sense, even if just to relax it. I believe that it in fact requires interaction for another very important reason, also, and that reason would (and does) cause a whole lot of problems to happen if you tried to use a hypnosis script as a subliminal script. But subliminals and hypnosis have the same ultimate goal, which is to interact with the subconscious mind and adjust the programming. In the case of someone who is easy to hypnotize, there is a lack of fear of the process, and trust in the operator. In the case of someone who is resistant to being hypnotized, there is typically fear of being controlled, or harmed, or embarrassed, etc. which triggers the resistance. But the subliminal bypasses the conscious mind entirely, and interacts directly with the subconscious. Now we know that the subconscious also can resist out of fear. But in most cases, it won't, as compared to when the conscious mind would; and when it does, that fear can be dealt with, and resistance can be overcome. It depends on the script, build method, usage patterns, personality type, specifics of the subconscious programming that generates the fear, and amount of fear present. If you're easy to hypnotize, you'll almost certainly be very cooperative with subliminals. |
