HealingTouch69's GHO 5.8G journal - Healingtouch69 - 04-28-2025

50-year-old male, rocking the "average shape" label at 89 kg (196 lbs) and 6 ft tall. Lately, I've been moving like a sloth on a Monday morning—no energy, no workouts, and my libido seems to have joined a witness protection program. So, I hit up a TRT clinic for a free hormone test, which confirmed what I suspected: testosterone's a bit low, but not in the basement.

The real kicker? Two separate tests, three months apart, my estrogen (estradiol) basically playing hide-and-seek and forgot to tell me where it's hiding.

After some-night Googling, I discovered that, surprise, men need a smidge of estrogen too. Without it you're looking at apathy, low, achy joints, zero energy—even if testosterone's decent. Since guys don't come equipped with ovaries, we rely on testosterone to do a magic trick and convert into estrogen. Hence, my decision to go with the General Hormone Optimizer instead of the Testosterone Optim for Men subliminal.

Oh, and here are my latest numbers. I'll check back after my next blood test in three months. If things still look grim, I'll probably embrace the TRT life.

Total testosterone: 13.7 nmol/L (395 ng/100ml)
Bioavailable testosterone: 6. nmol/L (193 ng/100ml)
SHBG: 36 nmol/L
Estrol: <30ol/L (translation: MIA)

Yesterday was a win! I actually to hit the hay earlier, around1:15 am, instead of my usual late-night owl hours of 2 to 2:30 am. That little tweak worked wonders for my sleep stats—7.5 hours of the usual six. Even my deep sleep leveled up to 58 minutes from the usual 15- minutes. Let’s just chalk it to the subliminal magic on my endocrine system! Oh, and here’s kicker: I woke up feeling... let’s say “enthusiastic” for the first time in ages. No morning wood but the “troops” were ready in record. Result? First action-packed morning with my girlfriend in months. Not bad for 1!

Another thrilling episode of "My Life is a Circus" today. I managed to hit the hay a bit earlier than yesterday, clocking nearly 8 hours of uninterrupted beauty sleep (with 58 glorious minutes of deep slumber, thank you very). Still no morning salute from the trouser department, but hey, at least the midday nap cravings have taken a vacation. Mental energy got a slight upgrade too—good timing, because my to-do list is starting to look like a scroll from the Middle Ages. Meanwhile, Mom's health saga continues: last month she got a dramatic ambulance ride and was diagnosed with blood clots and pneumonia. She bounced back, but they think she may have had a mini stroke, as her mind’s been playing peek-a-boo ever since., and throw in a breast tumor and a rectal tumor for extra spice (apparently unrelated, because why not?). She’s been the hospital for a month now, and her apartment lease is up soon, so I’ve got to channel my inner Marie Kondo and clear out all her stuff by the end of May. All this while running a business—because clearly, life thinks I’m some kind of superhero.

Once again, I heroically managed to hit the hay at ungodly early hour of 1 a.m.—practically sunset for me. After 7.5 hours solid sleep (still rocking that 58 of deep sleep streak), I woke up in a surprisingly good mood. highlight? resting rate dipped from 60 bpm to 58 bpm, proving my body is finally less like a stressed-out hamster. The twist of the Mid-afternoon, I decided to chill with 30 mof Robert Monroe's Transformation, only to pass out so hard that I woke 90 minutes later, courtesy of my girlfriend's frantic calls (the first round of which I blissfully ignored). Hero napping at its finest.

The past few days my sleep has been a bit of a disaster. I suspect my extended nap might be the sneaky culprit. On the bright side, my mood has taken a turn for the better, and I’ve become a tad more assertive. Oh, and my appetite has decided to join the party.
