The EMPIRE Strikes Back (UMS v.3) - Ampersnd - 03-26-2025 I subscribed to the latest version of UMS last night. Dragged my feet in going to bed, but I probably fell asleep within two minutes of running the subliminal. I had a small money-making project up until early March, at which point my low conversion rate had me turn off the ads. Will need to create a new video ad if it's been causing so much disruption. But, as I've tended to do, I got into an intellectual project. Starting around March 7th, I started my first draft of a new non-fiction book. I anticipate that I'll finish draft 1 today after finishing up one last missing section; it should be about 55,000 words in the Word Document and is probably on the quality of my second drafts. When I cut away the material I've decided doesn't fit the bill, it might be shorter. This is wonderful since I'm used to writing 150K+ books with hundreds of references. This is also nice because I was ambitious about covering many different aspects I wanted to touch on, but then I realized that I was going to lead the reader in circles. RE: The EMPIRE Strikes Back (UMS v.3) - enoch - 03-26-2025 Looking forward to your journey with this. I took a break from UMS but I will be back! RE: The EMPIRE Strikes Back (UMS v.3) - Frosted - 03-26-2025 Definitely going to follow this journey. Can’t wait to see your results! RE: The EMPIRE Strikes Back (UMS v.3) - Ampersnd - 03-27-2025 Day 2, Two nights running the loop to sleep; my second night of having a deep sleep and oversleeping. It feels as though my psyche is somewhat hollowed out; a certain general swirl of feeling is not there. Finished my first draft yesterday; 56K words. I'll need to give the music for my musical more focus; rehearsal this weekend. Then I'll review the structure of my current draft and reorder things for the second draft. Perhaps I'll uncover a clear path for making a lavish, dependable online income in the process. RE: The EMPIRE Strikes Back (UMS v.3) - Ampersnd - 03-30-2025 Day 5, Every night of sleep is quite heavy, and I'm glad that I am off work on Saturday and Sunday, so that I can sleep in. I'm about 1/3rd of the way through my 2nd draft, and this is on a single day of work (Friday night). I find myself getting tired sooner. RE: The EMPIRE Strikes Back (UMS v.3) - Shannon - 03-30-2025 How long did you expect the 2nd draft to take? I find that it takes 50% of the time of the 1st draft, but only because my process is particular. First draft: Blurt it all out on the page, off the top of my head. Second draft: Make my first draft much more intelligible and coherent. My first draft took about 20 days, and I was surprised about how smoothly I've expressed my ideas; even my ordering of ideas have unfolded themselves. Perhaps 3 to 5 more productive writing days and Draft #2 will be over. It's only during the third draft that I concern myself with whether the things I've written are 100% accurate or empirical; this is where I slow down and ask: Is what I'm stating even true? How can I prove this to the reader? I'll often compile a reading list during this draft, then read all those books, take notes, before entering draft #4. Fortunately, this is not that kind of book, since I'm creating a language framework. My biggest challenge will be to build flowcharts and diagrams that are non-contradictory. RE: The EMPIRE Strikes Back (UMS v.3) - Ampersnd - 03-31-2025 Day 6, Finally, some excitement. A dream where I was in a department store, and two large imposing guys had possession of my cell phone. They were threatening me, so I eventually break off and run away, but then I realize that they still have my phone. So I head back in, and I have some kind of standoff with them. It was one of those dreams where I hit them the hardest I could, but I had pillow-y hands. But I wasn't scared. I don't think that there was a scenario where they got the better of me; just that I got my hits in, but they weren't enough. When I woke up, I couldn't shake off the adrenaline for a little bit, but my mind got creative for how I would "take care" of them. I was willing to "go there" and do what had to be done to not only neutralize them, but to make sure that they could not be the revenge-getting type. Then that is quite a jump in speed! For me, if I have enough knowledge to just do a brain dump for a first draft, I always get that draft finished within 12 hours to 7 days, depending on how many words it takes and how focused I am on getting it done. It is always the 2nd through 7th drafts that take forever for me, because my 2nd and 3rd drafts I am adding huge amounts of material I didn't think of until then, and the actual editing is overshadowed by all the additions. I can usually do the first draft in 4-6 days of serious 8+ hours a day writing work per day, but the next 6 drafts may need 4 to 6 months of serious work. RE: The EMPIRE Strikes Back (UMS v.3) - Ampersnd - 04-01-2025 Day 7, These 7 days have wiped me out when it comes to sleep. I seem to require 30-60 minutes more to actually wake up, based on the same time I go to sleep. I run it when I'm about to sleep - due to uninterrupted exposure to the audio - and I get a raring sex drive for probably three minutes when I'm about to go to sleep. I'm currently quite Zen when it comes to money, even in spite of the state of the economy; I'm comfortable with making some additional purchases, and my attitude, is that I always have more than enough. This is something that's been consciously taught to me by an online creator. Edit: I find the 'Optimal Self Confidence' subliminal interesting, given the various areas where it can provide benefits. However, UMS purports to provide the confidence needed to earn lots of money, so I'll play it out. |
