HOY 5.9G - thectexperience1 - 07-20-2024

Earlier this year I used HOY for about 10 weeks (ultrasonic, Android, bed-time). This was strictly according to the instructions and with no autoconfig discerned.

The most noticeable effect was the detox module. I was shitting extra during ASRB2 cycles 2 and 3 and it stank extra too. More noticeable though was the urine. I've been doing bodybuilding, cross-fit and protein supplementation with few breaks for the past 10 years. I am no biologist, but I believe there is ammonia accumulation involved in protein digestion and/or muscle-breakdown. Trust me that I had to keep the bathrooms ventilated for that ammonia, no matter the weather.

The day-to-day effects were less obvious. First of all, I am 36 and still get mistaken for late 20s. So I am hardly the target demographic. On top of that, I moved to a city at 2,500m altitude right at the start of the run. On previous trips here, I've come away looking more gaunt and sometimes with joint problems. I believe that for a person raised at sea-level, the altitude overactivates the sympathetic nervous system and ages you more quickly as a result. That's part of why I wanted to run HOY at this time, but it does make it hard to assess HOY's effects on energy level and aging. At altitude, I sleep 6hr/night max and just want to go-go-go every day. That's how I felt during this run also.

Nonetheless, I did notice some smoothening of the lines around my eyes. To me, that's telling for a run of only 10 weeks, especially when I usually look and feel older after spending time at altitude. Plus, if I'm not deluding myself I could swear I'm putting on muscle faster than normal since getting back to the gym 3 weeks ago. This could be a result of the detox.

All in all, we have some tremendous offerings in the store but this is one to keep in mind depending on your circumstances. I could see myself running a sub for skin, hair, hormones and detox every few years. It sounds superficial, but those of out there at work giving talks, presentations and classes know that perception can matter as much as substance.
