The thing is, it's a subtle manipulation strategy. She chooses the clothes, and you wear them, and she's got the power over what you are wearing. Seems minor, but it's a step in the domestication process that females will put a man through if they like him. It's a shit test. "If he's actually the man he says he is, he'll choose to wear something he chose for himself." And whenever I have chosen to simply observe and play along, they do this process where they subtly lead me through a series of steps like that until I have no control of anything. She's choosing the clothes, she's choosing what I buy, she's choosing where we eat out, she's choosing how the money is spent, she is choosing everything. She has all the power, and control, and makes all the decisions for you.

And if you let her go down this path, it always ends the same way. Even if you try to stop it after she's gotten you most of the way there. It always ends in a relationship that fails.

Mothering of a grown man is a way of taking control by making the man too comfortable, and removing his need to be a man. It's also a shit test to see if he really is a man, and will maintain his manhood in the face of this opportunity to be lazy and allow himself to be treated like a child.

No adult man needs a mommy.

Ok fair enough but I disagree about the manipulation if you would have chosen the piece of clothing (or whatever) already. Because if you start acting out just to prove you are a man, you are more susceptible to manipulation than ever (and not very masculine being all reactive all the time).

Imo, a real man does what he wants regardless. If someone wants to go ahead of me and claim they're choosing where I step, that's their problem. And sooner or later they (and anyone else) will realize that you're doing what you want not what others are telling you to.

I just don't get what you have to be careful about then.

Let's say she picks what I usually wear (which is easy since I have 1 outfit for work atm). Now, I'm definitely NOT going to NOT wear it, because that would be stupid as this outfit is what works for me in sales. So I pick the outfit. Gasp. She has control of me! >>

Now, if you're saying that she will use that to slowly get you to try new things and use the "slow boiling frog" technique to get you emasculated, the n ok, I can see the concern. But if you're saying that picking what you would have already picked when she decides to "pick" it for you is somehow emasculating, then I don't understand how that could be, and you must enlighten me.

Truth be told, this used to happen to me in construction all the time when on SM. They would tell me to do something I was already going to do. It used to really bother me but then I realized it was like getting pushed around if I entered that mind frame. So I just did what they "told" me to do, and then one day they tried to get me to do something I wasn't going to do and I was like "actually, I'm doing this next".

And as for beta, the first part is a necessity. You can be as lazy and video game whorish as you like, and not be beta, as long as you're doing it because you choose to. And as long as you're not being a doormat to anyone else in order to achieve that state.
