RE: Insomnia Aid - randelljim - 10-12-2011

I suffer with insomnia often and I refuse to take any form of medication for it. Mainly because latest research shows that sleeping tablets prescribed by the doctor, although help you to dose off, they do not give your body enough of the "right" sort of sleep, so you are no better off.

Here are a few things that I have tried, and although they have not worked all the time, they have certainly improved my chases of a good nights sleep:

1. After some research into it, I learnt that it is best to separate your waking life from your sleeping life... what I mean is, your bedroom is a place of rest and so there shuld be no associations in it that involve activity, such as a television or a work desk.. It is supposed to be a sort of trigger where your mind automatically calms and relaxes when you enter your bedroom..

2. Don't eat or exercise several hours before going to bed

3. A nice warm bath before bedtime is a great way to relax the muscles and relieve tension if you are feeling particularly stressed one day. And we all what mess stress can do to us.

Hope that helps.

This is an interesting thread, but I note the last post was pre 2012.. any updates to the Deep Sleep Insomnia Aid?
Is an update necessary?

A new love interest of mine called me around 4AM, she struggles with insomnia, so I'm considering getting this for her.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
