RE: The Skeptic's Journal - Absolute Self Confidence - Javier Gerardo - 10-06-2012 Hey abidrew! I'm very proud of what you have done in the past; for being true and real about your sexuality. I myself have friends who are undergoing the journey you are currently taking. So I definitely can understand the problems you are currently facing. I can say that Shannon's subliminals will be a big help for you. Not to mention he's always here giving us feedback on our questions. I'm also using ASC 5g. Changes have been for the better thus far but there are still days wherein I feel down. Take it slowly and I wish you all the best. RE: The Skeptic's Journal - Absolute Self Confidence - ssh - 10-06-2012 (10-01-2012, 12:37 AM)Shannon Wrote: Abi, it is in fact possible to cause headaches using ultrasonic subliminals, and especially when using 5G ultrasonics, especially if the volume is too high or there is too much exposure time. Too much exposure time causes headaches by causing your brain to try too hard to get enough glucose and oxygen to keep up, and causing a pressure headache. The headaches from too high a volume and too much 5G exposure both should dissipate very rapidly when the program is turned off, usually within 5 to 7 minutes on their own. Shannon, with regards to the use of ultrasonics on speakers audio test file is available which could be used to detect the compatibility of the speakers to play at that required frequency but to calibrate the volume we entirely depend on the masked ones and match it with ultrasonic. In standard terms, if I happen to calibrate using a decibel meter/sound level meter or so, what would be the ideal volume in decibels to play ultrasonic on speakers 2-5 feet away? And what would be the threshold of danger level. I'm asking this because when I play the ultrasonic using earphone it is ok but when played on speakers it causes something very unusual feeling which is difficult to describe but some mental pressure, like my internal temperature is increasing or so....may be nausea, not sure..? RE: The Skeptic's Journal - Absolute Self Confidence - Sean - 10-07-2012 ssh, I think it would be a great idea to follow the instructions and then report back to us what your readings are on the db meter. Also, I doubt any safe levels have been determined, since these things are usually measured and defined by scientists, who don't believe we can hear those tones. ********* UPDATE ********* Of course, I proved myself wrong shortly after writing this. OSHA has done some work on this: http://www.osha.gov/dts/osta/otm/noise/health_effects/ultrasonics.html At 20KHz, the 8hr time-weighted average is 92db, which means that over eight hours, you should have an average db of less than this value. Considering that a normal conversation occurs around 65db, my unprofessional, uneducated, and generally ignorant recommendation is to keep the levels down around that level. So they do appear to me to be imagining things. Well, I performed your test, and we seem to have very thin walls because I could still hear trickling stream all the way until I went into one of the boy's rooms and closed the door. I couldn't hear it downstairs at all, but the boarder could, he could also hear it in his room... my younger brother should be completely unaffected by it, but it is possible that the boarder IS getting almost 24/7 exposure since he hardly ever leaves the house. I have decided to cease my brilliant plan anyways and resumed regular use of the ultrasonic subliminal on I think it was Thursday last week. I WILL be muting my entire computer system when I am away, hopefully I can remember to unmute even when I am not immediately in the mood for any music or anything else requiring sound. I unfortunately cannot seem to find a point at which I can calibrate the sound where I can hear even the faintest sounds in the Ocean Surf track and ALSO where the boarder can not hear the Trickling Stream track. Really, people are constantly confusing the issue between gender identity and sexuality. Gender is who I am. Sexuality is who I'd like to have fuck me. The wording of the last is also an important distinction, sexuality is both about your preferred partner AND your preferred role. But sexual role AND partner are NOT linked to gender. It tends to lean towards females prefer the submissive and a male partner and males the dominant and a female partner, but the opposite can also be true, as can something between. I'm a female bisexual submissive. I prefer a dominant partner, which generally tends towards male, but a lesbian dominant could also be attractive to me. I happen to know a lot of girls who are lesbian dominants. I even know a coupla straight dominants. I've not personally known of any straight submissive males, but they must exist, or there'd be no one to complement the straight dominant females. I also doubt that any straight submissive male would be all too open about it. Anyhoo... Thanks anyways for your attempt at least, and thanks for the thoughts on ASC. I am beginning to believe, a little. I do seem to have some increase in my confidence, but it's hard to say for sure if it's due at all to the subliminal, and to what point, and to what point my mere desire to be more confident is having an effect. It's also still hard for me to believe that ASC on its own can cure me when I have much much deeper issues to be resolved. I can say that even though my appearance still bothers me, I no longer HAVE to make myself as feminine as possible before ever leaving the house. And even though I'm still quite derogatory towards myself I'm starting to notice it more and be like, just WHY am I putting myself down like this? I don't know with the interruption if I need to just restart the clock or if I can just add a week to the tail end of my program and still call it 90 days? RE: The Skeptic's Journal - Absolute Self Confidence - Shannon - 10-07-2012 Abi, the solution would seem to be headphones. We're not trying for a cure. We're trying to make positive impact and improvement in the direction the program is designed to affect you. Making claims of a cure is for doctors. You should add 1.5 days to the end of your usage time for every day you missed. Sean, thanks for the concern and the information provided by he link you posted. I want to make sure that I hear the subs in the safest way possible because your ear is the gateway to your mind if you are going to use subs to change yourself, hence the precaution. I still want to know what you discover with your db meter, man! Headphones will not work, I'll just take them off in my sleep if I even manage to fall asleep with them on in the first place. I suffer terribly from Princess and the Pea Syndrome. No... I just need to remember to shut it off when I'm not around and turn it back on when I am. One and a half days huh? I was only what, 2 weeks in in the first place? I missed almost a week? May as well restart the program. So, Saturday, the sixth of October will be my start date for the 90 days. Making Friday, the fourth of January my end date. At which point I'll be doing ESE for 90 days most likely. Well, Sean, these are the search results link if you are interested in apps on google. You can turn your iphone into SPL meter with this. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kr.sira.sound&hl=en http://itunes.apple.com/in/app/spl-meter/id309206756?mt=8 Thanks & let me know if you give it a try. RE: The Skeptic's Journal - Absolute Self Confidence - Sean - 10-09-2012 That sounds like work, ssh. I wanted to know your results. Yeah, it will take some time....... RE: The Skeptic's Journal - Absolute Self Confidence - collegedropout - 12-13-2012 Breast enlargement works on people biologically born male? RE: The Skeptic's Journal - Absolute Self Confidence - AbiDrew85 - 12-13-2012 Uhm. WTH? Sorry, but that comes from absolutely no where. For anyone interested in what this thread is SUPPOSED to be about... I'm not really getting very good results from ASC. It's helping, but I'm resisting a lot and I think it's because I'm fighting a lot of personal fear guilt shame crap. I'm going to finish the program... but... I'll hopefully be able to move on to OGSF next. Maybe redo ASC after. But pending OGSF results maybe just going straight into LTU. RE: The Skeptic's Journal - Absolute Self Confidence - Shannon - 12-14-2012 I am glad to see the skepticism is assuaged, even if your personal needs are not fully dealt with by ASC. OGSF and OF are wonderful titles. |
