When depressed you are damaged. Just as you can get hurt physically, falling over, hitting your knee and you start to bleed. But your body is able to repair itself, and soon new skin has grown over the wound and it's like the wound have never existed.

But let say that you never would let the knee heal. You would go out and play soccer the next day again, and for some reason you fell on the same knee, and this time it would bleed even more. And you would continue doing this, until you started to get sore in the knee and had problems running. But you continued to go play soccer every day. Eventually, you would care less of the wound and that it hurt, and play regardless. You would start getting careless, maybe get more injuries because your knee injury made you slower, clumsier, but you already forgot about that.

This could go on until the day that things got bad. You started feeling less, and just went out there because of that was what you did, "who you were" or some other empty explanation. You never gave yourself the opportunity to heal.

Everyone can heal. From everything. It just take different amounts of time. But you have to start somewhere, and you have started. You have realized that you have been damaged, and that you need to heal, but to me it sounds that you are putting to much pressure on yourself. It takes time. It may even require the assistance of other people. You have already taken the first step and broken the spell of "just going on", you have started your journey, and that is the most important step. The next step is to ask for help where it can be found, ask a friend and tell them that you are not feeling well and that you may need someone to help get you started. Then you can ask that friend to go along with you and see a professional, and then it is just about the process.

E2 is a great tool that will teach you how to take care of yourself. But it takes great strength to recognize that you currently are not able to, with or without E2 take care of yourself, and need someone to assist you in getting on your feet. Know that even though you are laying on the ground and it feels like you are alone, there are people out there in the world that want to help, that have the strength to help and that are waiting for you to reach out so they can help you get up on your feet.
