Playing a subliminal through speakers will influence everyone who is within earshot. In the United States, you need to make sure they are aware of, and give consent for, being exposed. It's considered a federal crime not to, if I understand the law correctly. However, if the subliminal is a Level 1 Custom (a "name embed"), it will only affect the person for whom it was created. I used to use name embeds when I was living with my ex. She had her subliminal going and I had mine, and we both had name embeds and neither was affected by the other's program.
