The answer to your question has been posted here many times, by me. It is simply that the conscious mind and subconscious minds are at least largely independent, and one of their primary differences is that the conscious mind must rest, while the subconscious mind never rests and is always active. You make the mistake of presuming that subliminals feed into your conscious mind to get to your subconscious mind, when in fact they bypass the conscious mind completely. This means that your conscious mind does not have to be functional for subliminals to work, and explains why scripting subliminals is not the same as scripting normal speech or hypnosis. The whole point of using subliminals instead of something like hypnosis is that the conscious mind is completely bypassed and does not have to be involved.
