I can attest to both of those causing problems with erections, particularly porn. Would explain why you got morning wood, but not otherwise. I went down this rabbit hole with my doctor years ago. Even tried Cialis to experiment, didn't do anything as it wasn't a physical issue.
Thanks CatMan. I hear ya, porn is horrible and causes a lot of problems. Nearly ended my relationship. Sometimes I think how easy it would be if my ED was a physical issue, pills to help are easily available. But when the issue is in your head, that feels much harder to solve.
There was a time, 4 years ago that I watched a lot of porn, but I got some therapy and managed to stop porn use with help from therapy and attending SAA 12 step meetings. I still view some images, but I haven’t viewed sexuality explicit nudity or masterbating to any images for about 3 years now. Maybe 3 years isn’t enough time to reset my brain to stop porn induced ED. I don’t know.
Thanks for the help and suggestions.
Good for you, that's great to hear!
I've learned that especially if you don't have "real" sexual outlets to balance out those two things, it can be harder to recover from this kind of ED. It sounds like you're on the right path, kudos to you. It can take a long time, again especially if one started young and did not have "real" sexual outlets with women along the way.
It's crazy what video porn can do to the mind. Bizarre. Still surprises me, even years later after first seeing proof. In time this will sadly become more and more common, especially with that VR porn which sounds horrifying for what kind of industrial-strength porn-induced ED that will cause by comparison...my god. I hear regular cases now of teenage boys with porn-induced ED now, PIED. It's insane. Eventually, views on porn will finally change. Until then, we can just follow our own path. Even with subs, these are so "out there", we're far ahead of any conventional curve.
Sounds like you're on the right path in general. May just take diligence, time. Have you been in sexual situations with females? And ED issues with them? That's when I knew I started recovering, when I started getting little "tinges" of responses to situations, lol...
All the best man.
