RE: The Politics Thread
You can also see it the other way, you can't handle to wait, the update will come but later, can't you wait 2 weeks or a month. You will know but later when you can't get crazy about it because the toy is already in your hand and you might even say mehh!!! it's not crazy as I would have thought if Shannon would have told me I would get a blo*job by this stunning 10 Big Grin

RE: The Politics Thread
Shannon said he enjoys updating, because he gets to share the joy of what he's doing with the rest of us.

Furthermore, the point is CHOICE. It doesn't matter if someone "can't handle the wait." For those who can't (and so what), they get to read the updates and chat about it if they want. They get to get crazy about if they want. Choice.

RE: The Politics Thread
Shannon deserves to be able to go dark if he chooses. Give the man a banana.

However, once he unleashes DMSI 3.1 fury for all of us to experience, it would be considerate if he at least disclosed a few of these super secret awesome technologies that are getting ridiculous amounts of acronyms.

He does. But if you actually read anything he posts for content, you'd see he doesn't want to go dark. He just doesn't want to be blamed for the hype.

Give the man a banana Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin You made me laugh hard on that one Big Grin

Hype is never good, look at pherotruth,it's never a good thing even when unintentional, whether Shannon like it or not (to prevent hype), he has to do what he got to do. I would personally try to prevent anything that can get out of hand.

And what is the value of the discussion anyway, most people doesn't even understand what's it's supposed to do. Experience what's it's supposed to do directly, no need to stare at an acronym that you don't even remotely know what it's supposed to do. It's almost like porn at some point, you dream about the results you could achieve with that new high tech stuff. Problem is that this dream might not match reality so you get disappointed.

RE: The Politics Thread
I've become disillusioned with Democracy after this last election. Our political class is corrupt and incompetent, and yet they control our nation's course and hold all power. Specifically the baby-boomers, who make up most of our political class, have had easier lives than their parents and their children. They are like babies that were given the keys to the kingdom but ***** everything up. They have no qualifications to run anything.

Some sort of benevolent dictatorship would be better IMO, kind of like the Roman Empire. If these idiots remain in power, our civilization will not be able to cope with climate change, artificial intelligence or any other significant challenge in the near future. If Elon Musk and other technical experts were given control, everything would be better. We could build hyperloops connecting the East and West coast, an artificial intelligence that could eliminate poverty, and we could colonize Mars.

I think it's inevitable, and only a matter of time. This last election really convinced me that our leaders have been failing us for a long time. I don't completely agree with Trump, but it was satisfying to see him cow and humiliate the people who have been running things.

RE: The Politics Thread
I personally like Trump being elected because yes he is a celeb but also he definitely seems to be the man that will fulfill what he promises. I am not usually a big fan of republicans and more of a democratic party supporter but Trump being Republican really is what the doctor prescribed to make "America Great Again". However in contrast to GWB as Republican he didn't do any good in my opinion as president with so many conspiracies of rigged election back in 2000 and 9/11.

As I tell everyone, give the guy a chance.

(acceptable truncation mine) Clearly you're not from New York, otherwise you'd know very well about his history of not fulfilling what he promises.

RE: The Politics Thread
I would say the president actually reflect the country. If a country is really healthy meaning most of the people are healthy/intelligent/etc they wouldn't get a stupid president that create only problems instead solutions.

I think it's much easier to see the problems at a small scale. Let's take the example of a company with 5 people. If the CEO is a "bad guy" completely corrupted and the employees are very healthy intelligent guys they won't stay in this company for long. But if they are among the lowest grade of individuals they will ask for more of that, even if they complain all the time, they will repeat a loop of frustration. That loop is to:
1st "complain that the boss is the most wicked man alive"
2nd "say they have bad luck and do nothing about it but complain"
3rd "let themselves be manipulated because they fear that there is nothing better to do which means that they actually agree to be treated badly"

The more people will evolve from their stupidity the more they will get better presidents, this is what we are seeing currently as more people are seeing behind the veil of the manipulation which is mostly self induced by their own lack, it's not the presidents faults. In short people are not as stupid as they were, they are slowly getting more aware of what is really happening.

Naa I am not from NY actually I have been raised for over a decade in New England (CT). Well I think he will try to fulfill it.....he started building a wall between Mex and US didn't he?

Most may say he should stick to realty business and never get into politics but I think he has some knowledge in politics if you ever looked at his debates in 2016; look at how many Republican runners started and how Donald was the last Republican standing before the showdown between Hillary and Donald.....

He verbally kicked all Republican's asses during the debates in early 2016 and "put them in their place" that's why most republicans dropped out, even Jeb Bush....

But I am not defensive, I will be more than happy to do my research and see what he couldnt fulfill. Definitely worth looking into.
