what do you guys think about this? - hiddenalias - 01-10-2016

Stereo set says 20 khz advertised on box......

Playing the US tones at max volume has static sounds being outputted from the speakers.

I thought that 20 khz capacity speakers should not do that when playing US tonesHuh[/align]

Distortion will occur on low-med spec speakers if the volume is too high, regardless of the frequency range.

Something like this would blow you ears off at full volume but it shouldn't distort http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00I2IPE9E?keywords=speakers%20tannoy&qid=1452522961&ref_=sr_1_3&sr=8-3

Also not that its required, but for peace of mind they go up to 48KhZ. Powered monitors are a pain to setup though as you require special leads and 2 pwer cords, 1 for each speaker.

I read Shannon using max volume with US in his thread the other day, thought his wasn't advised but most be OK if he's doing it?

Hope this helps!

Yeah it's pretty crazy right!

The problem with the Tannoys is they have a high standing noise level. Which means even with no input there is a lot of static noise, too much for me when using Ultra Sonics.

Well they are not actual stereo system; it is speakers that you plug into your laptop or smartphone

Yeah, I read a review and I can't stand that noise when nothing is being played based on that I didn't purchase.
