Is hypnosis brain washing or is it mere light persuasion?
Is there an effective and impactive 18+ product for total brainwashing?
To be an alpha, attract women, perform like a pornstar etc etc.
If you want to go the extremes corporations, media outlets and governments go to great lengths to use subliminals to the extreme to shape your mind to buy products or feel a certain way to an event, even shape culture creation. Just look at the TV. If these people can create powerful subliminals that create real and effective change then there must a product for positive change, to increase self confidence, be successful and for self motivation.
If there is a product that effectively overcomes your mind and brainwashes you for the better, to be an alpha, to desire to attract women etc, to be more self confident and be the life of the party then I would very much like to know.
As a discussion point do you consider hypnosis to be brainwashing or just light entertainment for the open mind? or maybe you find it very effective, maybe infact exactly what I'm talking about already and just don't realise it's potential?

Hypnosis - all hypnosis - is self hypnosis, because it requires cooperation. It isn't very effective by itself for "brainwashing". Brainwashing is a term usually used to describe a major and radical change of point of view, belief and attitude. Well known sources of brainwashing include military boot camps, successful cults and war time prison camps for the enemy. They don't use hypnosis much because it's just not appropriate for the sort of thing they're doing. In other words, it's about like trying to enter the Indy 500 race on a 10 speed bike. Hypnosis can be used to make major changes, but brainwashing is much more forceful and traumatic.

Brainwashing isn't usually a goal because it isn't usually a positive thing or healthy. You're misunderstanding what brainwashing is, as compared to self improvement change that is done through the mind.

It is debatable how much the methods you are talking about are used for the purposes you are stating they are, but that is neither here nor there. Subliminals are very likely not used as much as conspiracy theorists would like to believe, mainly because most people who make them don't know what they're doing, and because there is still a very real option for a person to resist. I personally would have a hard time believing that our government could have enough of a clue to use them properly, make them properly, and then keep it enough of a secret to get anywhere.

Again...brainwashing isn't the goal. Overcoming your mind isn't the goal. The goal is to shift from negative subconscious programming to positive. And you are sitting smack dab in the middle of it, being here.

Hypnosis isn't entrainment. It's a state of awareness in which the predominance of the conscious mind is reversed with respect to the subconscious mind. You go through a state of light and/or deep hypnosis every day as you wake up, daydream, fall asleep, sleep, play video games, watch movies, and sometimes even drive.
Hypnosis, properly used, is very effective for achieving one's potential. So are subliminals.

thanks for explaining the differences of the two. i was just hoping for a short road to success. i sincerely hope changing my subconscious beliefs aren't as stubborn as the process of burning body fat to get a six pack lol.

ok, sorry to bother you but another thought while we're at it.
why is it that these self improvement hypnosis sessions takes time to sink in but you get people go on stage and get hypnotized thinking their a chicken or a potato tastes like chocolate in an instant? Is this tv dramatics or a different method of altering one's belief system?

I am no expert, but from my understanding that is stage hypnosis=they find people who are more suggestible or easily put under and use them as examples. Also there is the peer pressure aspect to stage hypnosis. If I am wrong hopefully someone will correct me.

SantaRich is correct. Stage hypnotists basically test the whole crowd for susceptibility and pick out the 1% or less of people who are easiest to influence. Peer pressure can be twisted to enhance the results, as can feelings or beliefs of expectation based on what a person has seen or heard about the experience.
