Increase dopamine sensitivity? - Superman - 03-22-2015

Is it possible to create a sub to increase dopamine sensitivity? I think this would be of use to people who are addicted to various types of things and will allow them to find pleasure in normal things again after their dopamine system has been abused through addiction.

What about recovering their chemistry and receptors to the normal sensitivity/balance instead of increasing something?

Yes, well part of increasing sensitivity would include restoring the chemistry and receptors. Is this even possible though?

I was about to post this and I am.glad somebody thought about this...

If this sub is created then this would also help people with low level of dopamine and various issues they have with it..

Yeah this would be good. I have dabbled in drugs and im sure it has caused damage to my receptors

Acetyl-l-carnitine has some studies backing its ability to increase dopaminergic tone. Also, the prescription drug Pramipexole (which has some side effects, like daytime sleepiness and if administered before bed, you'll wake up after a few hours and have trouble sleeping).

I don't know if that is possible currently, but Mr. Anderson is correct. It's best to let the body handle that end, you remove the stimulae and reframe it as negative or unwanted with subs, and the rest takes care of itself over time as "normal" stimulae is introduced and slowly pathways are built up and reinforced and the addiction related ones eventually decay. That seems to generally be how Shannon's programs along this line work. There's one for drugs, smoking, alcohol, porn, masturbation, and marijuana interestingly has it's own.

I'm still dealing with ones from porn from time to time, and some small issues with ED as well, maybe even masturbation itself which may need to be addressed in a sub to fix. It's a flatline period after you remove the addictive behaviour or substance to my understanding, before the brain can rewire itself. How long depends on how strong the addiction was, and for how long etc.
