Are these speakers good enough?? - Ricardo - 06-21-2014

Hey all
I'm starting the ASC sub and just want to check that these speakers are ok for the ultrasonic
http://logitech-en-emea.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/44612/section/troubleshoot/crid/409/lt_product_id/11030/tabs/1,3,2,4,5/cl/gb,en

I started using a pair of creative A60

but after playing the ultrasonic for a while, they then wouldn't play any sounds until the speakers were turned off and on again. Both sets of speakers passed the sound test (rising tone then silence for the rest of the test) Has anyone noticed this peculiarity with their speakers? I had them playing Ultrasonic for several hours after I fell asleep but am now wondering if anything came out of the speakersSad

Both meet the requirement for ultrasonic (minimum 20kHz). If the speaker has problems i doubt it has to do with the sub/ultrasonic.
If you want to be sure, you could always run the masked tracks if it doesn't make it hard for you to sleep.

I am doing the same thing Ricardo. I have a pair of Logitech Z120 which meet the 20KHz and I just want to know If it is working or if I am doing it right. I use my Samsung Galaxy S3 to play the ultrasonic with the speakers and there is no crackling or static but when I plug it into my PC there is crackling at full volume but not with the phone.

I use my sony arc phone to play the subs at night through the logitech speakers with a small mp3 player for the masked tracks during the day. I was careful with the Ultrasonic calibrations. Is there a decent app or program that can measure the frequency of sound coming out of a speaker?

FreqeunSee is an app on android that can measure it. It is also free but I purchased it to remove the ads.

Thanks for that. I just tested my logitech speakers and there are peaks at the 20KHz area which disappear when I switch the ultrasonic off. I haven't bothered testing the Creative speakers. I really wanted to play Ultrasonic at night to sleep easier. I could probably sleep on trickling stream but quiet is better for me Big Grin
