Total Procrastination Annihilation - Masterchief - 06-25-2010

Hey guys, Masterchief here. I have been reading your journals for a while and they are interesting reading.

I have decided to try the Stop Procrastination sub. I have been fairly lazy in my job search, even though I really need the money. I tend to procrastinate in general, and I really want to put a stop to this habit. It wastes countless hours in the day.

I'm not sure how I would be able to measure how well a sub like this will work, but I'm interested in giving it a go and seeing what happens.

Well Man,I tell ya if this program yer considering using is anything like the other titles....get ready cuz yer *** is going for a REAL Ride. All I can say is that THEY WORK. All the Best to Ya.
Keith.

Cheers Keith. You have quite a nice set-up going, Ultra Success and Wealth Abundance.

I don't know if anything is happening at the moment. I have speakers, which have the right frequency response (90Hz - 20Khz) in the specifications. I read some of Shanon's post that says sometimes manufacturers get lazy and the real response could be up to 18Khz. These are the speakers I have:

They are quite cheap at £13.99 which is about $10. The company is Creative, which is a reputable make. They specialise in audio equipment. What speakers is everyone else using?

Don't worry about the speakers man... as long as the ultrasonic version plays silently, then you're fine. You only need to worry if you are hearing high pitched popping and crackling sounds. I just play them through the speakers built into my laptop and sometimes on my ipod using earbuds.

Procrastination is awful. I had it bad when I created that one for myself. Good stuff.

RE: Total Procrastination Annihilation - Masterchief - 06-28-2010

Procrastination sounds so innocent, but it feels awful. It seems like you are putting your life on hold, or wasting your life away with pointless little distractions. I am consiously aware that I need to get the work done. It gets worse at the end of the day when you look at what you've done, and realise you could have achieved the same thing in an hour without distraction.

Shannon, if you don't mind sharing what you used it for how you knew it was working, that would be great. Is the sub for the habit in general, or will it make you do the thing you want (in your mind) more pro actively. Like for example look for work, much better (efficiently) than I am currently doing.

RE: Total Procrastination Annihilation - Shannon - 06-28-2010

Basically, I always used to procrastinate with what needed to be done in genera, but mainly with important school projects -- and cleaning the house.

Cleaning isn't normally something I have trouble with, but certain roommates have tended to butt heads with me on this point. When I created it for the first time, I was living with a woman who was a packrat, and her "my way or the highway" attitude to what needed to be cleaned -- and how to do it! -- just pissed me off. Normally, I like my area clean, Spartan even, and I like to have space. Living with a stubborn controlling packrat produced serious conflict, and the result was a deadlock: she refused to clean because she insisted that I wasn't doing my share, and I refused to clean because I do things my way (and who cares how I do it, as long as it gets done?!), and I couldn't stand the clutter and crap she insisted on having in every room. Why am I spending an hour dusting when the job takes 15 minutes as long as you don't have piles of shit on top of everything, which must be moved and then replaced! But get rid of those piles of shit, and she would go ballistic. Basically, I created the program to get me to stop procrastinating so she would stop her constant complaining.

How did I know it was working? One day I simply said to myself, "The house is dirty, and the job needs to be done. Bullshit aside, I'm just going to do what needs to be done."

The program does what it does by disengaging the mechanism that causes procrastination. Basically, what happens is that somewhere you end up with a disagreement between your conscious and sbconscious minds, in which one says "No!" and the other says "Yes!". When the subconscious says "No!" you don't get very far.

So... the program works my getting you to subconsciously choose to do what needs to be done, instead of refusing to do it.

I could do with cleaning my room as well. I have the same situation with my brother, although not as bad, I would think. He'll use me as an excuse though. He'll say I am not doing my part in the cleaning. So he'll leave the room in a right tip. This ecourages me even less to do the cleaning.

Ok, so I have been using the sub for 3 weeks now. I have updated my cv and sent it to a couple of agencies. I have gotten feedback that there may be positions, that I would be suitable for.

I got so fed up I updated the cv in haste and just sent it, no matter how perfect it was. I am a prefectionist, which does hold me back. Pretty sure it was placebo. What I have been noticing is that I get up earlier and more motivated to do things. I'll still get distracted though.

I used to get out of bed at 11, but now I get out at 9. I have the sub playing at night on speakers. My brother sleeps in the same room as me, and he is notorious for having lie ins, till 12. He now gets up at 10 ocasionally as well. I haven't told him I have subs playing. On average I am getting out of bed 2 hours early and so is my brother on ocassional days.

I am going to put it to the test. As there are loads of other things I need to do, eg. tidy my room and organise all the paperwork.

Masterchief,

Could we get an update? Hopefully you're so productive now updating your journal isn't at the top of priorities Wink

I just finished end clutter (which worked great!) And was wondering about your results. I am not a procrastinator but I have a very volatile and unstable schedule/time management which I would really like to get more militarized.
Hey Andrew

I stopped the subliminal 2 weeks ago. I found that I wasn't getting any further in tidying my room, or sorting my paperwork out. It has been 2 weeks since my mum decided to tidy my room for me out of frustration. At 28 years of age that is quite embarrasing.

I tested it thouroughly. A phase of using just my headphones, in case my speakers weren't capable of the right frequency. It made no difference. I kinda figured the speakers were fine as I was having dreams and then remembering them quite easily.

The difference I have noticed is that I was waking up 2 hours earlier but I spent more of the day avoiding doing important things and distracted easily.

I have been reading the forums and from seeing the reactions people have been having to the Alpha Male program. The reactions seem to be what I am looking for. A kind of putting your head down and working on yourself/what is important for your wellbeing whether it be health, finance etc etc.

Is there a way of swapping the subs over to get the Alpha Male and paying the difference? I think I told you I was thinking of the woman magnet, but it seems the alpha male is the one to go for.

Well Shannon and I have a bit of a disagreement over this one. I believe you should have been using the End Clutter & Get Organized subliminal, because for me the Overcome Procrastination has not helped me do things I have no interest or place no value in doing. It helps get those things done which I am genuinely interested in persuing, and after using End Clutter, this became a much higher personal interest of mine. It is actually rewarding for me to clean. If this is true, then you'd have been using the wrong subliminal.

Shannon feels that Alpha Male would do more for you and the lack of success with overcome procrastination is due to resistance.

I'll let you decide, but you still have a gift certificate for $15 left from the forum promotion that you never used.

RE: Total Procrastination Annihilation - Masterchief - 09-13-2010

I didn't purchase the subliminal for cleaning my room originally. I wanted to update my cv to a good standard and send it to agencies to find work. I updated it in a hurry and sent it to an agency and managed to find work. So the "use to sub to update my cv to a good standard" test couldn't really continue.

I thought I could use it for cleaning my room instead, seeing it is something I never really liked doing. Like I mentioned, it hasn't really helped in that area. Even theough I don't really like tidying as it wastes time, I thought the Procratinating sub would help as it is quite universal. I am procrastinating in tidying, at the end of the day.

I feel the Alpha Male would help me more. I am currently trying to learn how to build a website to get my business kick started, so I want to knuckle down and start the project. In the meantime I am sure clutter will form. It will be interesting to see what happens.

I'll use the gift certificate as well. Forgot about that.

I see your getting out of bed earlier and you've sent your CV out rather than trying to perfect the impossible (can Procrastination manifest as perfectionism? Never thought about it before; sounds kind of ironic, but at the same time could well be possible) has the sub helped you in other areas? Do you feel any different? See any behavioural differences? The Alpha set is brilliant by the way and I feel that it deals with a lot of the issues which may cause Procrastination.

RE: Total Procrastination Annihilation - Masterchief - 09-13-2010

Can perfectionism manifest as perfectionism? Sure can. But perfectionism is such a general term, there will be core issues behind it. Criticism of presentation, written paper, imperfect cv.

The only difference I noticed was getting up earlier. Sending imperfect cvs, I have done before so it wasn't a reliable difference I could take note of.

I was using the sub as an introduction, to the world of subliminal programs as it is my first one.
