I stumbled upon some research on how PTSD can be treated by using the psychoactive drug MDMA:
The treatment is controversial due to the illegal status of the drug in most countries, however the american organization Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (www.maps.org) have been granted an exception to be able to do research in the field, with the following mission statement:
"We are a 501©(3) non-profit research and educational organization developing medical, legal, and cultural contexts for people to benefit from the careful uses of psychedelics and marijuana."
As some here are struggling with different mental-health problems, I figured maybe someone already heard about it, if not maybe this could shed some light into an alternative field of treatment. More can be read at MAPS website, here on some specific cases:

Would be interesting to see if MAPS manage to evaluate the method and if with positive results introduce an alternative way to help patients overcome their problems.
