Your brain on porn
So while surfing the web and other various forums, I came across this.
http://yourbrainonporn.com/ And for those who are interested in seeing, the 6 part video series of what goes on in your brain. http://yourbrainonporn.com/your-brain-on-porn-series It basically tells you about how porn has changed because of the internet and I have followed the advice here. So far, I have not watched porn for 42 or so during my first run. I'm on my second attempt and I'm 20 days strong so far. It's pretty difficult but it is doable. My goal is to try to stay off until at the very least I am done with SM2011, but I don't think I will want to go back by then. There's no religious stuff involved here, just neurophysiology (function of the brain). What do you guys and girls think? |

RE: Your brain on porn
I saw this almost a month ago, it is a good site. I think the whole not looking at porn concept is a little much.
Being on the internet you're inevitably going to come across porn thats just the way it is. You'll see pictures of hot girls or a thumbnail of a video that looks promising. As long as you're not consuming time to go through those pictures or watch that video you'll be fine. I believe the main concept to follow from your brain on porn, is to NEVER masturbate to porn and to limit masturbation, or even just to cut masturbation out. But, for some cutting out masturbation can be hard so its best to slow remove masturbation from your life, start at once a week, once every two weeks once a month, ect, ect. |

RE: Your brain on porn
as someone who spent my teenage years masturbating to porn 1-4 hours a day, at least I got to train endurance,
I can tell you when it comes to both meeting woman and connecting with woman on a long term basis even any amount of porn is no good. If you can limit your porn intake then congratulations because I know when I get going I get going lol. I have no polemic against pornography at all except in my experience and the experience of all my friends-cutting out porn does wonders- Porn trains your mind to appreciate the roughness of fantasy over real sexual reality and trains your body to feel false sexuality as real turn on which cause an AVERSION in woman and a gradual numbing of your own sex drive and appreciation of real woman-now a little porn now and then isn't going to hurt but I would say go 1 week with out porn and see if you really need it. The thing that I feel nobody realizes is alot of those girls on camera-really don't want to be there-or they want to be there for the wrong reasons-hatred of parents and wanting to get back at them, desperate or wanting/needing easy money, or wanting to fluant their pseudo sexuality--not all porn is like this but the majority I would say is and people are essentially jerking off to these woman's pain and issues-and if you believe in the inter-connectedness of oneself to life as a whole that means your training your sexuality away from any heart center and taking in anger, despair, sadness, and false pride-now I'm gonna go wack one out online and tell you first hand if my theory is correct. "...as one envisions so one shalll become." -A quote I like |

RE: Your brain on porn
I read this before and yeah I need to cut down my porn viewing. Sometimes I just couldn't help it. I'll try to stay away from them again.

Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent." |
